Cajixay School Project
Cajixay, a village located in the remote highlands of Guatemala, is home to approximately 90 families. After fleeing the violence and devastation of the civil war in the 80's and 90's, many returned to their land after the war and began the process of rebuilding. Thanks to the involvement of Agros International, the people of Cajixay are being trained in agriculture and community development.
W.I.N.D. of God, through our affiliation with Westminster Chapel, has a longstanding relationship with and love for the people of Cajixay. One of our desires has been to help them in the area of education. After meeting with the village community leaders and listening to their heart and vision concerning the dire need for an elementary classroom, W.I.N.D. made the decision to raise funds and build a new classroom. Materials were finally delivered in early November and construction began in earnest! The beginning of the new school year in January will find children eagerly learning in their brand new classroom.
